WIP: Warp spider Exarch 3

I started my week trying to finish from what I left off the last time I painted this mini. Here are the links to the first and second part of this WIP: WIP exarch part1 and WIP exarch part 2.

I started painting this Saturday and was able to finish the violets. Spent almost 2 hours blending the colors to have a very smooth transition. From my base color of VMC Violet, I just keep on adding VMC Dark sea blue to the mix until I get the desired shadow. I then started painting the highlights by adding some white and a little bit of VMC blue green until I get my desired contrast. I then glaze it with my base color to have a smoother blend.

Then, I move on to paint the death spinner with greys; mixing with VMC dark sea blue for the shadows, then white for the highlights. I did the same procedure after painting both the shadows and the highlights, I just glaze it with the base color.
Different shades of grey was used to the death spinner

VGC bone white was used as my base color for the cobwebs in his suit;
adding VMC Smoke to the base color for the shadows, then adding white for the highlights.

The reds were done today; again using VMC dark sea blue to mix with my base color of VGC blood red for the shadows, then white plus a little bit of VMC orange for the highlights.

I always use at least 7 shades for a smoother blending. Usually 3 shades
painting towards the shadow, the base color, then 3 shades of highlights.

If my schedule permits, I hope to finish this model before the Painting tutorial that will be held this coming Saturday at MyPlace near Ateneo, sponsored by Lito "Oberon" Tan. Thanks for reading.
